1// I finished the first week of my psych rotation this week and I have to say, I’m enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. Psychology was my first major in college. I have always found it interesting, I just didn’t think I would like it as a PA. I assumed it would be just writing a bunch of meds and that’s it. While it does deal mostly with medication management, there is so much more that goes into it. “Brains are like snowflakes” as my preceptor would say. Each person handles medications differently, so it’s like a puzzle finding what works for each individual person. I’m getting a good mix of inpatient and outpatient care as well as adults and children. I am also getting to deal with people with addiction. It’s a good learning experience to have the full spectrum of ages and settings.
