? It’s the most wonderful time of the year!?
And no, I know Christmas is still two months away (yikes). I’m talking about the annual Sephora VIB sale! Every November Sephora gives you 20% off of everything in the store for a few select days (EVERYTHING). It may not sound like a lot, but for a store that never has sales, this is pretty exciting.
The sale is opened up to the VIB Rouge members first. That is the top tier of Sephora’s rewards program, for people who spent an embarrassing amount of money on makeup that year (like me ?). Then it is opened up to VIB members a few days later. Typically this sale is not opened to the general public, so if you’re going to spend a good amount of money on makeup and beauty products, I suggest you do it at Sephora so you can rack up your points to VIB status!
This year the sale is open to VIB Rouge members on November 4th -7th, 2016.
Besides the obvious (hello, it’s a RARE SALE at my favorite store ever), there are 3 reasons I like to shop the Sephora sale.
- Stock up on all my favorites for the year
- Splurge on the pricey things I’ve been eyeing
- Save big on value and gift sets to give as presents (ehh . . . or to keep)
Let’s jump into my picks!
How many mascaras can you go through in a year? Three . . . seven?? Chances are the answer is more than one. For this sale I like to stock up on my every day basics I know I will be using a ton of. Last year I definitely snagged multiples of lip products, eyebrow pencils, and mascaras.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and Brow Definer. I don’t know anyone who has perfect eyebrows, and I felt naked if I left the house without filling my eyebrows in (prior to microblading). These are my favorites for getting the job done.
I go through a lot of mascara. I go between Benefit They’re Real! Mascara and TooFaced Better Than Sex Mascara, and sometimes I use both in combo. They’re Real! gives long and wispy lashes, while Better Than Sex gives tons of volume. For my bottom lash, I always use Benefit Roller Lash Mascara.
Aerin Rose Lip Conditioner – This is always my go-to lip conditioner. I can’t live without it. There’s a tube in my purse, one in my white coat pocket, and one on my nightstand. If you have chronically dry or cracking lips, this is your answer. Buy several, you won’t regret it.
Make Up For Ever WaterBlend Face and Body Foundation – light and airy buildable foundation. My everyday foundation that never feels thick or cakey.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream – I recently started using this and I am HOOKED. It keeps my skin seriously soft for 24 hours and the smell is AMAZING. Even Husband was like “why are you so smooth?”
GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment – This stuff WORKS but it’s pricey, so stock up while it’s on sale. I love it for getting rid of blackheads, shrinking pores, and as a spot treatment.
Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium – My go to scent. It’s sexy and a little sweet. Makes me feel like a woman. I always keep the travel size in my purse. There’s also a gift set with the perfume, travel size AND a lotion. Win!
Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics – a good palette for everyday wear.
Philosophy Purity is my go-to face wash. I buy the huge bottle with the pump that I can leave on my bathroom counter, and it lasts me the whole year long. Plus the larger bottle is much cheaper per ounce. There’s also a Philosophy Purity Cleansing Collection bundle if you want to check out some other goodies from the Purity line.
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo – I go through bottles and bottles of this stuff during the year. Because I certainly don’t have the time to wash my hair every day, and dry shampoo is the best invention ever. That is all.
What to Splurge On
You see the shiny pretty bottle from across the aisle. You walk over to pick it up. It’s sparkly and it smells like heaven and HOLY SHIT IT’S EXPENSIVE. Has this happened to you? Sephora is good at giving you little samples of heaven that you fall in love with only to find its out of your price range. I love the Sephora sale to pick up on some of these pricey little beauties I’ve been eyeing all year long. Not to mention a great time to get the big ticket items you might be needing, like hair and face tools.
Korres Golden Krocus Ageless Saffron Elixir Serum – I’ve had a love affair with this stuff since my Fresh Start Facial powered by Perk at Sephora. It’s a shimmery serum that smells and feels so good on your face. It just feels so luxurious. Props to their packaging on this little beauty.
Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum – This has been incorporated into my nightly routine. I use it on the days I don’t use tretinoin cream, and I have noticed a huge change in my skin.
GlamGlow – The Magic Box of Sexy – If you want to try out some Glam Glow masks and are looking to splurge, this might be for you. I haven’t tried all of the masks yet, but the ones I have tried did not disappoint. Yes it’s expensive but you’re saving OVER $200!
Yves Saint Laurent Vinyl Cream Lip Stain – Is it the pretty packaging, or the way it feels like your real lips on? I’m pretty sure it’s both. For a long time I didn’t wear lipstick because I hate the way it feels on my lips. The Vinyl Lip Stains feel glossy and moisturizing like you really don’t have anything on. I love them. Pricey, but so worth it.
Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Steamer Solutions – This machine is seriously cool and I have been wanting it for years! If you book a facial at Sephora, you can try it out. It steams your face so your products absorb better. And it just plain feels GOOD. Like a spa treatment at home.
Drybar – The Big Blowout Bundle – I bought this bundle last year, but it didn’t come with the wand. I really love this blowdryer. There are settings so you can lower the heat on your hair and it dries my hair quickly. And Drybar also has great customer service. This splurge is worth it.
And check this out just for funsies (or if you’re ready to splurge big time). A Dyson Blowdryer! We absolutely love our Dyson vacuum cleaner, so I’m sure this blowdryer also works wonders. I would love to try it.
If you wash your face, then you need a Clarisonic in your life. It’s a game changer for regular exfoliation of your pretty little face. Sephora is offering a few different sets. I like the Sea Breeze First Aid Beauty set and the Mia Fit Holiday set.
Save Big on Holiday Bundles
Some of my very favorite purchases from Sephora have been their sampler and bundle sets. I like getting to try new products without the commitment of buying a full size. And the sampler packs are always at a discounted price! Now you can get a double discount with the 20% off during the VIB sale. Get them fast, because the Sephora Favorites Samplers always sell out quickly.
Sephora Favorites Perfume Sampler – This is one of Sephora’s best deals yet. You can find your favorite scent out of the 15 samples, then trade in the certificate for any of the full size bottles. It is a seriously good deal!
Sephora Favorites Skin Wonderland – Try some new skin care products with an almost $100 discount!
Origins Best Sellers – I pick this bundle up every year. I love all the Origins products in this set, and they all get used up quickly. This set is 50% off of buying them all individually!
Drunk Elephant AHA Kit – If you’re going to try the Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum (man, that’s a mouthful) you might as well try some other goodies from Drunk Elephant with this bundle.
Wow. That’s a lot of stuff. I’m exhausted. But not too tired to go full up my virtual shopping cart on Sephora.com because the SALE STARTS TOMORROW. Get busy, girls.
